This month the Ministry of Energy published in the Official Gazette Exempt Resolution #12 which specifies the technical characteristics of the labeling for these products.
The result of this resolution is the work of a public consultation held in July 2019 to determine technical specifications for the design of the energy efficiency label for furnaces. The Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, the Ministry of the Environment, the Superintendency of Electricity and Fuels, the Directorate General of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Consumer Service were part of this working group. It was also sent to product certification bodies and electrical and fuel laboratories (to which INGCER was a party), distributors, importers, marketers and manufacturers of such devices.
It should be remembered that the parameters used to measure the energy efficiency of furnaces prior to this public consultation corresponded to electricity protocol PE 1/5/2, which lacked verification of the energy efficiency label.
The document in particular defines and establishes new ranges for each category (letter) in addition to the technical specifications of the Energy Efficiency label.
Although it is not yet clear when this new determination will take effect since it is not specified in Supreme Decree 64, INGCER has consulted the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuel and expects to communicate it to our clients soon.
